It is hard to believe Valentine's Day & President's Day are quickly approaching! Truthfully, Valentine's Day has never been my favorite day. I do like the new made-up day "Galentine's Day". I love to find a reason to treat myself to something special and Galentine's Day is a perfect excuse to do so.
The question is what is it going to be? What about you?
My two boys, Chaz and Noodles (12-year-old pups) are always giving me something. Lol....
Call us with questions, we love hearing from you, 203-421-6799.
It has been so great seeing all who have ventured out to shop! We are nearly open 2 months since the temporary closure and missed the thing I love the most our customer engagement. Having the opportunity to work with you, pulling looks and creating your style is so fulfilling. On several occasions, I had a feel-good moment when told you had not shopped anywhere since the pandemic began and we were their first place you came. What an amazing feeling that is! Sharing your joy and excitement giving me hope that there is light at the end all of this. Every week I stress over writing these emails and when I hit send (typos and all), I say thank goodness that task is done, and quickly another week comes around. Thank you for telling me you READ my emails, since committing to sharing the store's new receipts, events and experiences with you weekly rather than monthly our connection and engagement is stronger and more transparent. I am so proud of all the accomplishments my small business has achieved. Thank you for being a part of my Robertson Madison family. Next week we will anniversary 7 years being open. I put my little blue open sign out around noon Friday, July 25 and the magic began. Our first customer came in and bought shoes along with a bunch of clothes and when she passed me her card, I realized I had not been behind a register to ring someone out in nearly 20 years. Suddenly, I started to panic, all the work setting up the store and I do not know how to use my register? Oh no! I pulled the store together in 3 months, I had not decided to open my business and start looking for a location until March 2013, I signed the lease mid-June and was open 6 weeks later. I didn't sleep very much, I had no staff, my team was family and friends, my mother Rose, sisters Marie & Sue, brother Ed, nephew Dan, extended family Joann & Paul, Kim (who lived next door to the store), Fitzroy (who I worked with at 9 West & Kenneth Cole) along with Ruthie (Fitzroy's beautiful daughter). I could not have done it without their love and support. Since then the store has become more than a store, it is a lifestyle. Women have transformed their closets and wardrobe 100% to Robertson Madison. Head to toe styling, complete and total looks. I cannot thank you enough for your support and loyalty. I am living the dream, and sometimes the nightmare, but looking back I would not change a thing. This is the most rewarding job I have ever had. Your trust in us as a store and business is never taken fore granted. Now, as we get ready for our busiest week of the year heading into our eighth fall season, we kick off our Sidewalk Clearance Sale Tuesday July 21, in hopes to make room for some of the best merchandise Madison has ever seen.
Below are images with links, of our newest receipts from Velvet by Graham & Spencer and Andre Assous, along with some sale highlights and a look down memory lane, from our beginning July 2013.
